![]() ![]() ![]() The problem with Nextcloud is its own plus: Plugins. Yeah I know, but it's better to use apps made specifically for a specific task rather than expecting to find one that's going to do all things well. ![]() I used to advocate for Nextcloud for a long time, but after some failed attempts and almost a day lost trying to restore it after a failed version migration (which wasn't too far from the current version, either), I'm going to be the black sheep here and suggest something different: It probably depends on how much you are doing at one time, and I probably caused the issue by moving too much at one time without letting the client catch up. For large scale changes it might be easier to make them directly to the Nextcloud data folder and then do a manual database update to ensure everything syncs. So I manually refreshed the file database to fix it. It caused the folders to be “locked” in Nextcloud which was blocking the sync. I must admit that I had a few folders that didn’t want to sync after those changes but it was probably because I was moving some folders inside a folder I moved already but wasn’t fully synced or something. I tried to do it stages so it won’t get overwhelmed by all the changes. I recently moved around a ton of files to help make it easier for me to back up my files (organized them by most to least important so I’m not cherry picking a bunch of folders I want to back up) and it did pretty well but took some amount of time to get it all updated. If you are making a lot of file changes at once it may be a little slower since it scanning the file/folder structure. I see it synching right after I update small files. It picks up changes within a few seconds at the most. I haven’t timed it, but I would say it’s similar. What Is SelfHosted, As it pertains to this subreddit?
